Currently charging a flat rate of $25/hr for most services. This is for the work that I'm doing for you, not for the time it takes me to learn anything I need to learn in order to help you. For example: If you need help setting up an Etsy account and listing some products, I'll need to learn how to create one on my own time, but I'll only charge you for the time spent working on YOUR account.
I may have to raise my rate in the future, but my hourly rate is not a reflection of my own personal value. Times are hard, not just for me, but for everyone else. Everytime I see a product or service that could really help me, I always scoff at how much they cost. Throughout my career, I've never made much more than what I charge per hour, and I was okay with that. I prefer helping people and being accessible to those who don't have extra spending money but still need help.
I don't love a buisness model that requires tipping, especially when there isn't any overhead or costs on my end. However, my rates are certainly not enough to live off of. So, if you feel that my services are exceptional and have the extra money to help out, please feel free to send some extra! I will never ask, or expect a tip EVER, but I'd rather do this than offer a sliding scale where people have to ask for a lower price, which is difficult for people who are already struggling.
We can all agree that my rates are pretty low, and my time IS valuable and I do need to support my family. If you're completely unhappy with my work, I'm not going to be unreasonable here and we can talk about it. I'd like to say that my rates are for my time and that is non-refundable, but if you reach out and are kind about it, I'll be more open to discussing options with you.
I'm pretty good at most things that I offer to help with. Sometimes even great. I won't ever take a job I don't think I'll be able to handle. But, I'm not a super professional with certifications. I'm not going to create an award winning website, or the best graphic design work you've ever seen. But as you can see from my portfolio, I can get the job done well enough for what you might need.
Because it's just me doing this, I'm going to be very selective with what I can do and who I can work with. If a baker can refuse to make a wedding cake because I'm queer, I can refuse to help you because you're a bigot. So if you're a MAGA idiot, racist, homophobic, bigot, or anything like that, please don't bother contacting me. I mean, why would you want to work with me anyway? I've had enough of that nonsense in the corporate world, I'd rather not be uncomfortable when working on my own. Let's not make this awkward because I hate confrontation. Thanks for understanding!
Why do you think therapists and psychiatrists get into the work they do? It's not because they have their stuff together I can promise you! It might seem weird to you, but in both my work AND personal life, I've had so many people come to me with their challenges. I actually have a proven track record of giving them great, unbiased, educated advice and guidance, and have been thanked tremendously for doing so. Even doctors and therapists have opened up to me with their own issues - probably because they sense my caretaker personality and my empathy - and have told me that having me as a patient has been super helpful for them as well.
